Recipe for starching petticoats

Orinignal by Retrospect 

 

I make 2,5 batch to accomodate 2 normal petticoats and 1 corded petticoat.

 

Small pot (2,5L)

- 1/2 cup corn starch

- 1 cup water

- mix

- 8 cups of water

 

Big pot (4,5L)

- 3/4 cup corn starch

- 1 1/2 cup water

- mix

- 12 cups of water

 

- Boil for circa 1 minute.

- Cool off until safe enough to put your hands in.

- Soak petticoats.

- Wring them out, the more wringed the less stiff they will be.

- Hang to dry.

- Iron.
